“If You’re Brave Enough To Say Goodbye, Life Will Reward You With A New Hello” – Paulo Coehlo
We listed our house in Arizona. It’s up for sale and ready for the new owners to arrive. We are packing up and taking a load of stuff to Oregon.
We are on the Oregon Trail.
Our own trail. A big move. Larry has lived in the house in Arizona for 28 years. That is a long time. This transition is taking some letting go and opening up to something new.
That gets harder when you are older and more comfortable in your “known zone." Honestly, it’s not just when you are older, it’s a pretty normal feeling. However, if you want to experience something new, you have to get out of that comfort zone! And we are definitely doing that!!

The house hasn’t sold yet, but we know the new owners are on their way. We are in the flow and when you’re in that state you have to just keep moving and understand that things will work out the way they are meant to work out.
Faith.
Faith in knowing that our job is to set the intention and move in that direction and then allow all the gaps to be filled in by the field of unlimited possibilities!
Moving requires lots of “letting go” moments. Processing all the accumulation of stuff and determining what really is important and what isn’t. Saying goodbye to all the friends, neighbors, and acquaintances that have become part of our lives. Even the businesses (our favorite restaurants), doctors and even our new dentist!
Mostly, it is hard to let go of the peace and solitude. The amazing night skies and the incredible views of the the Milky Way. Honestly, the years I have spent in Arizona feel like my personal Walden Pond. The time here allowed me to open to my own heart and get to know myself in a way I could never have experienced anywhere else. I am filled with gratitude for Larry and his remote place in the White Mountains. Now I am ready for the next phase of our adventure together.
The trail to Oregon.
It is with an open mind and heart that we start this journey. This is our new journey together. Leaving behind what was “his” and what was “hers”. Everything from this point forward is new to both of us! It’s exciting and a bit scary. But we’re in this together and we know amazing adventures await.
“Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new.” - Brian Tracy
We’re starting the adventure with the unexpected and spontaneous purchase of our Gemini Rising Lake House! We are both excited to get back to it and start working.
We are making plans and ordering supplies. We are contacting people to do work - like the guy to level the house and the floor installer. Meanwhile, we are purging and packing and loading up the trailer.
This is really happening!
Years ago we went to workshop on manifesting. The guy teaching the class talked about setting an intention and then moving in that direction. We wrote a “mind treatment”, a written intention to hold in your mind as your focus, a place to put your attention. He said, “Treat and move your feet!” We have never forgotten that.
Our intention is clear, we are focused, and we are moving our feet (and our tires) on the trail to Oregon.
